The objective of the working group 1 (WG1) is to set up a testbed for comparing different large-scale models at different resolutions. To initiate this “WG1: Testbeds” experiment, we invite some modeling groups to participate in a modeling workshop. The workshop is organized on 9-12 June 2015 at Utrecht University, the Netherlands. It is related to the temporary (3 month) appointment of Reed Maxwell as Belle van Zuylen professor at Utrecht University.
Venue: The meeting will be held in Room 1015a of the Van Unnik Building at the Uithof Campus Of Utrecht University.
Address: Heidelberglaan 2, Utrecht (see also http://www.uu.nl/en/willem-c-van-unnik-building)
The preliminary agenda for this workshop can be viewed in the following link: https://goo.gl/qLqjFO
For the workshop participants, please prepare a short presentation (10 minutes) about your model and latest works/developments. If you have performed the model simulation on the WG1 testbed domains (e.g. California, Illinois and/or Rhine), please also share your experiences in your presentation. If you have not done it yet, you may want to share your comments/opinions about this “WG1: Testbeds” experiment.
- For illustration: An ideal talk/presentation would be approximately 10 sheets, about 7 sheets to presents the latest developments and 3 sheets to share your experiences and/or comments about the WG1 experiment. Also, any thoughts on how we could effectively exchange knowledge and working together on this experiment are welcome. With 10 sheets we would still have a few minutes of focussed discussion or elaborating questions for each group. Please try to stick to this number so that we can keep our time.
- If it is possible, please send your presentation file before Monday 8 June 2015 to Edwin Sutanudjaja (e-mail: E.H.Sutanudjaja at uu dot nl).
